Dreamy, opera-esque vocals, ethereal synths and otherworldly lyrics layered over melancholic piano sounds - Delphine creates music that makes you dream. She transforms any stage into a captivating dreamscape and shares deep emotions with the audience when performing.
Of the song featured here, Delphine states:
‘Hunger is a complex feeling - while initially one might think it is not anything of desire, the human experience with hunger and thirst can be more complicated than that. Especially when growing up, beauty seems so painfully important to young people and can destroy their relationship to food and nutrition forever.
‘For Her, is a love letter to the self that has been hurt so deeply by not feeling pretty enough, not thin enough, not good enough to fit the beauty standards of this world. While this hurt might never go away completely, I wanted to express the desire for simply loving my body and my self for what it is - not what it should be in the eyes of endless beholders.
‘When visiting various nude life painting classes, I found such a deep admiration for all the different shapes, sizes, shades and textures about the human body and learned to appreciate and love my own a lot more. I hope that my listeners will take some of that away from my music and my story and can find this deep beauty in themselves.’
